Born and raised in Sierra Leone W. Africa, Shalimar Zahra has always found herself on the stage some how. Her move to the US at the age of ten, led her to further discover her love for the art of acting and the entertainment business. After graduating from St. John's University with a BS degree in TV and Film Production, and a minor in Media Management and Finance, Shalimar continued to strive in everything that she does, behind and in front of the screen. Behind the scenes, she has worked with the ABC Network, Val Dean Entertainment and is currently the Creator/Executive Producer and star, of a series called America Free. In the acting world, she attended the William Esper Studio, a prestigious acting conservatory in NYC. She has starred in several short films and made her NYC theater appearance in a starring role as Delia in the play "Miss Francis". Shalimar currently resides in Los Angeles and is very grateful to be part of The New American Theatre Company.
